The International Military Technical Forum Army-2017 was as
usual a multi-format platform for international military
technical and military economical cooperation.
Representatives of scientific organizations, leaders of
leading industrial companies, and military specialists taked
part in the Forum-2017.
In 2017, the Army Forum had a number of peculiarities:
innovation Club exposition and aviation cluster was expanded;
dynamic programme has been held at night for the first time;
naval cluster was deployed on the Komsomolskoye Lake.
Underwater robotic complexes and special hardware were
demonstrated; exposition devoted to activity of the Russian
force grouping in the Syrian Arab Republic as well as
exposition of weapons of terrorist groupings was deployed in
the Patriot Park.
In total, more than 1,200 companies and organizations took
part in the Forum. More than 18,500 samples of military and
dualpurpose were demonstrated. Representatives of 114
countries (more than 300 persons) participated in the Forum.
Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Slovakia, and
South Africa presented national expositions. Representatives
of 78 defence industrial companies from 14 countries
demonstrated their production. In course of the Forum, 140
events of scientificbusiness programme were held. Military
experts, public officials, and leading scientists from 17
countries took part in the programme.
In total, 8,600 persons participated in the business
scientific programme of the Army 2017 Forum. More than 300
pieces of modern and prospective hardware and armament of
the Russian Defence Ministry were demonstrated. About
700,000 people visited the events of the Army 2017 Forum.
Lot of newest samples of small arms had been demonstrated.
Antitank complexes, Kornet and Khrizantema systems, unmanned
combat modules made by the Kalashnikov Concern and Shipunov
Design Bureau attracted much interest. Special attention was
paid to Su34 and Su35 jets as well as Su57 aviation
complex. The Russian Armed Forces are to receive these
complexes in 2019. Newest samples of air defence, including
TorM2DT, Antei2500, NeboSVU, were demonstrated as well.
Visitors and participants of the Forum got familiarized with
characteristics of the Krasukha, Khibiny, and PresidentS
electronic warfare complexes.
Advanced samples of armored and missilespace hardware,
systems of air and missile defence, robotic complexes,
unmanned aerial vehicles as well as systems of communication,
navigation, electronic warfare, and nuclear support were
demonstrated during the closed part of the exposition.
More than 300 experts from 114 countries have visited the
static and dynamic displays of the Forum2017. The
representatives of defence departments of 65 countries took
part in the event. Highlevel delegations arrived from 35
countries, including 20 of them headed by the Defence
Ministers. More than 400 foreign correspondents accredited
to the event.
The Forum saw six bilateral negotiations of the Russian
Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu with
heads of foreign defence departments. In course of the talks,
five accords on military technical cooperation have been
signed.
Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation,
Ministry for Industry and Trade, Rostec Corporation,
Rosoboronexport company and other organizations held more
than 100 of bilateral talks with foreign partners. As a
result, 12 accords and agreement concerning export and
maintenance service for Russian military products have been
signed.
The RussianIndian military industrial conference have been
held on August 2425. In course of it, the Russian and
Indian organizations have signed agreements, for instance
HAL Indian aerospace and defence company concluded a
longterm maintenance contract for the Russian hardware used
in India.
The Russian and foreign organizations have presented more
than 2,500 sample of military equipment (1,971 — by the
Russian side, and 409 — by foreign companies including
Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, Slovakia, Thailand,
Turkey and the Republic of South Africa). The leadership of
the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation
held negotiations with the representatives of foreign
defence departments and commercial companies of the
following 30 countries: Azerbaijan, Algeria, Armenia,
Belarus, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Venezuela, Ghana,
Greece, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, PRC, Lebanon,
Mali, Morocco, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru,
Serbia, Tanzania, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Chad, Sri Lanka, and
South Africa. Rosoboronexport company held more than 190
presentations showing more than 100 various samples of
military hardware. The foreign partners are mostly
interested in military hardware of the ground forces, Air
Defence, and Air Force. During the Forum several contracts
have been concluded contracts including the helicopters
supplies for the Burkina Faso Defence Ministry and the
PantsirS1 air defence supplies to Equatorial Guinea.
